Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park is located in Cairns, Tropical North Queensland. The park is approximately 20 minutes by car from Cairns City, 15 minutes from Palm Cove and 45 minutes from Port Douglas. Tjapukai is situated next door to Skyrail Rainforest Cableway on the corner of the Captain Cook Hwy and the Cairns Western Arterial Road. 

Shuttle Transfers

Tjapukai offers a transfer shuttle service which can collect and return you from your Cairns and Northern Beaches accommodation. This service operates on a regular basis and guests are advised the pick-up and return times when making your reservation.

Tjapukai can also be included in your Kuranda Day Tour in conjunction with Skyrail and Kuranda Scenic Rail. Or visit the reef one day with Sunlover Reef Cruises and Hartleys Creek Crocodile Farm and Tjapukai on an alternate day.

Public Transport

Public transport connects with Tjapukai via Translink Route 123 from the Cairns City Place Bus Stop and returns from the Tjapukai Bus Stop.Departure times can be found at the Translink website.

The Tjapukai Bus Stop sign artwork has been commissioned by the Transport Department. Djabugay descendant Napolean Phillip Oui designed the sign with Bundarra,the Cassowary totem, which is significant to the Djabugay people as it signifies the Father.

A taxi service direct to and from Tjapukai is also available.
